Spring-Mar Forgoes NAEYC Re-Accreditation

After a great deal of thought and discussion with members and teachers of the school, the Board of Spring-Mar has decided to forgo re-accreditation by NAEYC at this time. While Spring-Mar remains committed to the spirit of NAEYC curriculum and guidelines, we feel their accreditation process does not match the resources and needs of a cooperative preschool such as ours.

Established in 1963, Spring-Mar is a cooperative association composed of parents and professional educators whose aim is to create an outstanding preschool program.

Spring-Mar offers 1-day, 2-day, 3-day and 4-day programs for children ages 2 to 5 years-old. Class size is small and adult/child ratios are extremely low.

Located on the premises of Accotink Unitarian Universalist Church in Burke, VA, Spring-Mar is not affiliated with any religious institution and does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, national or ethnic origin. We strive to celebrate the diversity of cultures and traditions of families in our community and welcome families of all backgrounds and composition.

Licensing

Spring-Mar is licensed by the State of Virginia and registered with the Fairfax County Office for Children. It meets or exceeds preschool safety standards required by local jurisdictions.

Spring-Mar is a Member of Virginia Cooperative Preschool Council.
