Shopping

Our sale is held once in spring and fall. The sale is held rain, snow, or shine, if at all possible. This year is our tenth year for our sale. We will have items from over 100 consignors plus over 1000 items donated by the members of our preschool and their friends and family. Items include toys, seasonal clothes, accessories, baby equipment, and maternity and nursing wear. Consignors set the prices on their items and the donated items are always priced to sell.  Clothing is hung on racks for ease of shopping. Due to space constraints, we cannot accommodate shoppers with strollers. Cash and checks are accepted. All proceeds go to benefit Spring-Mar Cooperative Preschool, a non-profit organization.

Consigningtoys

Consignors tag and price their own items and receive a percentage of sales. Items are dropped off the afternoon and evening before the sale.  All consignors shop early.  Items can be picked up after the sale or donated to Spring-Mar/charity. Consignors who work the sale receive a greater percentage. If you would like to be on our consignor mailing list to be notified of future sales, please email sales@spring-mar.org.  Please indicate that you are interested in consigning at our sale.

Donations

Donations are greatly appreciated. Email us at donations@spring-mar.org or call 703-239-1213 x5 to make a donation. Items needed include kids clothes for the coming season, toys (no plush, please), books and videos. Spring-Mar is a non-profit organization, so donations are tax deductible. Receipts are available. Pick-up may be available.

The items left after the sale are going to benefit many, many people in our community. All donated items went to the following organizations and the people they serve.

  • Grace Ministries of the United Methodist Church helps low-income immigrants attain suitable job and life skills.
  • ECHO, Inc., Ecumenical Community Helping Others, provides temporary or emergency assistance, including food, clothing, household items, and financial support to about 1,000 families a year.
  • Goodwill is a provider of education, training, and career services for people with disadvantages, such as welfare dependency, homelessness, and lack of education or work experience, as well as those with physical, mental and emotional disabilities.
  • Fairfax Area Christian Emergency & Transitional Services (FACETS), Inc., provides comprehensive programs and services, including supportive housing, basic needs assistance, and counseling, to men, women, and children who are homeless or are otherwise precariously housed in Fairfax County, VA.
